CURRENT SKINCARE FAVORITES

It’s been too long since I’ve shared beauty related content on my blog. I tend to share more skincare/beauty content on my instagram. But I do love from time to time to dive in-depth and talk about products I use and why I love them. You probably know about my skincare obsession..it started back when I was at university in London and it hasn’t stopped. Thankfully, as a part of my job I get sent a lot of products to try and review, so that explains the huge amount of skincare I have in my bathroom. Another positive aspect is that I have normal skin type and my skin allows me to try out different products without getting irritated or breaking out. But I still am very picky when it comes down to what I put on my face, and if I come upon a product that does wonders to my skin I stick with it. So in this post I will share with you my current skincare faves. Some are new products some I’ve been using for years. Let’s get started.

Avene Gentle Eye Make-up remover– A product that removes all eye make up even waterproof mascara. This gel eye make-up remover is amazing. Super gentle, doesn’t make your eyes sting and removes eye make up without the need to scrub your eyes too hard.

Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Cleansing Balm– I started double cleansing two years ago and I haven’t stopped. Especially if I wore make up during the day or spf. I try out different cleansing balms, but so far I think this will probably be my favorite. I love the texture, it dissolves quickly and creates an emulsion. Melts away all make-up, dirt and excess oil from the day. And most importantly doesn’t dry out nor strip down the skin.

HERBIVORE Pink Cloud cleanser– halfway through this cleanser and it is definetely worth the hype. It’s very gentle, I use it as my morning cleanser. Gives a nice cleanse to your skin, I love that it’s foamy and the fact that it doesn’t dry out the skin.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution– Can’t believe I only started using this now. The Ordinary has some amazing products and after the AHA BHA peeling solution this comes in 2nd place. I use it 4-5 times a week morning or evening and I could notice the difference after a couple of weeks. My t-zone is less oilier for sure and this has reduced my blackheads and breakouts.

Dermalogica Daily Milkofoliant– my holy grail product is the Dermalogica Microfoliant, recently Dermalogica launched their new Milkofoliant based on oats and they kindly sent it to me to try it out. And I love it! It’s more gentle than the microfoliant so for people with sensitive skin this will work amazing. I also love the texture and the oat smell of it. I use it in the morning after cleansing my face.

ALGENIST Triple Algae Eye Renewal Balm– the secret to reduce black under-eye circles is to use eye creams that contain peptides. That’s the secret ingredient. I’ve been really liking this product lately. It’s in a tiny package, but it will probably take a while until I run out of it. I’ve been using it for 2 months now and I’ve barely gone through 1/3 of it.

REN Glow and Protect Serum– Vitamin C serum for glowy skin, this serum besides containing vitamin C it also has hyaluronic acid. It’s great for evening out skin tone, getting rid of dark spots but also giving your skin a glow. It’s not pure vitamin C so it does not oxidate as fast as a pure vitamin C serum would. Pro tip: Use vitamin C serum in the morning for the best results and apply afterwards SPF.

Farmacy 1% Vitamin A Retinol Serum– I think this is probably the best retinol I’ve tried in a while. It’s 1% so pretty strong (would not recommend to start off with this one). I apply it 1-2 times a week as part of my night routine, followed by a very hydrating moisturizer.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm– this is my current lip balm obsession not only does it smell divine (vanilla) but it gives my lips such a nice plump and gloss, not to mention how hydrating it keeps them.

Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream– another holy grail of mine. I am already on my 3rd pack of this. But ever since I discovered it last year I haven’t switched to a different moisturizer ever since. It’s thick and looks heavy, but it absorbs quickly and nicely without leaving the skin feeling sticky or oily. Since it’s a heavier moisturizer I only use it in the colder months (October to March) as part of my night time routine.

Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask– Vitamin C based sleeping mask, you apply the mask in the evening and you wake up with a glowy and healthy looking skin. It’s suitable for all skin types. I use it once a week or every two weeks instead of a moisturizer. The mask has great hydrating ingredients so you wake up not with just a glowy skin but hydrated too.

Those are all my current favorite skincare products. Let me know if you’ve tried  any of them or share with me what are some of your current skincare favorites.
