WINTER SKINCARE ROUTINE

I realized that the topic I cover the least on my blog is the beauty one. Since I get asked quite a lot to share my skincare products and routines, I decided this week’s post to be about my current winter skincare routine.

Up until last winter I had the same skincare routine all year round, when I noticed that my skin tends to dry out even chap in the winter due to the cold and the snow, that’s when I started changing up my routine according to the weather and this winter my skin has been glowy and healthy throughout the freezing cold weather.

Let’s start with my extensive skincare routine, something to keep in mind is that I have normal to combined skin, so the products I use are for this type of skin.

First step to every routine is cleansing, since I wasn’t wearing any make up today or left the house I didn’t need to do a pre-cleanse, so just went straight for the cleanser. The current cleanser I use is the Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel.

Step number two is applying toner, in the winter months I am using the Dermalogica Redness Relief Essence which is specifically created for the winter time, reducing redness and strengthening the skin’s moisture barrier.

After the toner sets in, it’s time to apply serums. First thing I apply is The Ordinary Niancinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, I’ve been using this product for a while and even though I don’t have acne prone skin, this still helps preventing breakouts and/or healing breakouts faster and reduces blemishes I only use this product at night in my night skincare routine.

Next up is the Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum (which as you can tell I only apply in the evening), I mix it together with one pump of Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum to give my skin a bit more moisturize.

For eye cream I use the Drunk Elephant Shaba Complex eye serum, which I swear on, ever since I started using it in the summer I said goodbye to my black under eyes.

And the last step is moisturizer, in winter I used the Drunk Elephant La La Retro Whipped Cream and I mix it with a few drops of Dermalogica Barrier Defense Booster that soothes and nourishes the skin.

And with this I conclude my winter skincare routine.
