DERMALOGICA

I think everyone knows that I am a fanatic for skincare and I love to ry out different skincare products and brands. However, before I put anything on my face I throughly read the ingredients of which product to know if it’s good or not and whether it will work for my skin. A brand that I have complete trust in and I am happy to say that I collaborate with is Dermalogica.

Dermalogica was established in 1986 by Jane Wurwand, a tenured, United Kingdom-trained skin therapist. In California she opened a small classroom, in 1983, named The International Dermal Institute, which today is considered the gold standard  for postgraduate skin and body therapy training . Dermalogica was born, a skincare line free of common irritants and ingredients that could cause breakouts (including lanolin, SD alcohol, mineral oil, artificial colors and fragrances) that would improve skin health.

I started using Dermalogica about a year ago, and soon many of their products became essentials in my skincare routine, and products I cannot live without. Keep reading to see my review of all the products from Dermalogica I’ve tried so far.

PreCleanse– double cleansing is a must, especially if you wear make up or SPF. The Dermalogica PreCleanse is the perfect oil based cleanser. Melts away excess sebum (oil), sunscreen, waterproof makeup, environmental pollutants and residual products that build up on skin throughout the day with skin fortifying Borage Seed, Kukui and Apricot oils. Washing it away with water transforms it into a milky based cleanser. Leaving the skin hydrated and clean.

Special Cleansing Gel– the second step of the double cleanse is using a cleansing gel. The Special Cleansing Gel is a very gentle foaming cleanser, that is soap free. You can use it everyday and it won’t strip off your skin.

Daily Microfoliant– this is one of my holy grail products, that I cannot live without. A rice-based powder activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes to polish skin to perfection. Brightens the skin complexion with instantly. Gentle enough for daily use. I like to use mine in the morning after I cleanse my face.

Redness Relief Essence– lightweight like a toner but concentrated like a serum. It helps with reducing redness sensitivity by strengthening the skin’s moisture barrier.I only use it in the winter periods when my face tends show redness from the cold. You can read more about my winter skincare routine here.

Barrier defense booster– concentrated oil booster soothes, nourishes and moisturizes to restore balance to sensitive skin. Nourishes the skin, relieves dryness and reinforces barrier integrity against future irritation. It contains squalane which locks in moisturizer. I mix it together with my moisturized, just 2-3 drops. Just like the Redness Relief Essence I use it only in winter months.

Biolumin-c serum– this is probably the most expensive product in my skincare cabinet. But it is worth every penny, I absolutely love. It brightens and firms the skin, giving it a very nice glow.

Biolumin-c eye serum– a very lightweight eye serum, brightens and firms the skin area with the help of Vitamin-C. Polyphenol-rich Arjun Tree Extract and skin-nourishing Chia Seed oil hydrate the skin and help with the appearance of fine lines. I use it 3-4 times a week in the morning.

Skin Smoothing Cream– one of my favorite moisturizes for sure (running low on my current one, so I will need to repurchase ASAP).  A dynamic Hyaluronic Acid Complex with Mallow, Cucumber and Arnica distributes hydration throughout the skin, helping to lock in moisture for lasting hydration, keeping the hydration up to 48h. Also formulated with naturally-antioxidant Grape Seed Extract, Vitamin C and Vitamin E.

Nightly lip treatment– overnight formula which firms, hydrates and restores skin on and around the lips. Reducing the fine lines around your lips. I use it 1-2 a week since my skin is very young, but it’s good to start early with these kind of products.

Skinperfect primer SPF30– smooths fine lines, brighten and prime for flawless skin, perfect prep for make-up application. Love that it contains SPF 30 keeping my skin UV protected. I apply it after moisturizes, even if I don’t tend to wear make up it still gives a nice glow to the skin.

Dermalogica might be on the more pricey side of skincare, but it is definitely worth investing in them. I love that all Dermalogica products are paraben and cruelty free, do not contain any artificial fragrances and colors, and are vegetarian. They are also sustainable, the majority of their packaging is recyclable and biodegradable which is something I started taking into consideration when purchasing skincare.

I have a few new products that I am currently testing, so this post will be updated very soon.
