Fall is slowly coming to an end, but not to dwell over it winter is coming and so are the holidays. I am super excited for the upcoming weeks, finally getting into the festive/Christmas spirit. But in the meantime I decided to show you one last autumnal outfit for this year.
There is nothing that symbolizes more the holiday season than the smell of freshly baked gingerbread dough. From eatable houses that look like small masterpieces, to dressed up in icing gingerbread men, cakes, candles, room scents and what not. If you have been following me from the very beginning you will know that every year for Christmas me and my dad bake and decorate a gingerbread house. It’s a father-daughter tradition we have for 5 years now.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, technically London has been decorated since October (early much?), but this past week I finally got to enjoy the Christmas period. Going to Christmas markets, shopping on Oxford and Regent Street for gifts, mulled wine and churros at Winter Wonderland and of course ice skating. There are so many ice rinks around London, to choose from. But, for me the most picturesque is the rink outside of the Natural History Museum.
Picture a place that is as photogenic as Paris but 10 times leaner and with less crowds, a place as cosmopolitan as London but smaller, a place rich with history, culture, music and real princess and prince tales. A place called Vienna, the past weekend I had a chance to visit Vienna again. Once I said that having friends live abroad it’s the worst but also the best thing, because you get to visit them and travel. This weekend I was visiting my friend Sara that has been living in Vienna for the past few years, and there is nothing better than exploring a place with someone who calls it home.
There was one a hotelier names Andre Balazs that decided to transform, a charming firehouse built in 1889, into a luxury hotel with 26 rooms and a restaurant in which he will bring Portuguese Michelin Star chef Nuno Mendes. The small and charming firehouse Chiltern Firehouse became the it place for celebrities, and it takes months to get a reservation.
